Hello All!
I don't know about you, but I am seriously ready for summer to end! I always love it and look forward to it, but just like a family vacation, toward the end, I'm always ready for things to go back to normal. I always look forward to a new school year; the excitement, the expectations- who will my teacher be? will I make the honor roll? will my friends be in my class? I still get excited about new school supplies, new shoes, and new bookbags! Sadly for me though, this is the first year that I haven't had crayons on a child's supply list. As much as I love the fact that my kids are growing up, when I saw Nate's supply list was void of crayons, I teared up a little.
Part of my "fall fever" is always the beginning of a new dance season! This year, our dance season will begin on Tuesday, September 7! And let me just say- this year is going to seriously ROCK! Our staff is excited, motivated & ready to bring on the dancers!
We have some really awesome new additions to our dance schedule this year as well! In addition to the perennial preschool favorite, the tap & ballet combo, we are adding a "tiny tap & jazz" combo for our smallest dancers on Monday evenings. Mrs. Shannon will be teaching this class, and I can't imagine a better teacher for our little groove shakers- she is soooooo full of energy, and she is hands down one of the best instructors that I have ever had the pleasure of working with (and yes English hounds, I just ended my sentence with a preposition). I cannot WAIT to see them shake it up at recital time!
We are also adding a new combo for our elementary age dancers, a jazz & ballet combo! For the dancer that is "so over" tap, this is a great class!
And- for the dancer that wants to make LOTS of noise with their feet, don't forget about clogging, taught by Mrs. Erin! Mrs. Erin does a jam up job teaching clogging to the young & the old. If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Erin, stop by and see her on a Wednesday night! She is an awesome instructor with a heart of gold!
For those students who are more interested in ballet &/or lyrical, we have some new class offerings for them as well. We'll be teaching a beginner and intermediate lyrical class. For those of you that are not familiar with lyrical dance, it's a great ballet/jazz fusion that focuses on more contemporary music & movement with a balletic base. We are also offering a pre-pointe class (for students that are ready to begin training to "dance on their toes"), and a pointe class (for students that have been approved to "dance on their toes").
And, of course, we have our old favorites: tap & ballet combinations, tap & jazz combo, hip hop, breakdancing (Mr. Mike is SOOOO ready to get busy!), jazz, movers & shakers, & ballet.
The 2010-2011 schedule is now up and ready, so enroll NOW! Remember too- if you need new shoes, leotards, tights, bags or "stuff", we have it here (or we can order it for you!).
And last but not least- refer a new student to us, and receive a $10.00 credit to your account! Make sure they use you as a reference of you won't get your credit!
Happy dancing!!!
Mrs. Blake
